Backpacks for you little ones!

Right now we have the Penguin and the Mouse in stock. Next week the Puppy will arrive and the Monkey will be here mid-August. I wasn't able to get a picture of the Monkey backpack, but believe me when I tell you it is just as cute as the rest!

Hope for Holly

Ok, first let me say this is not Holly, Pout Holly, it's another friend that needs our help.

Holly Bergo has been diagnosed with lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM)...a rare lung disorder. There is no cure or effective treatment for LAM, and doctors have told Holly that a double lung transplant is her only hope for a second chance at life. Come support Holly and help raise much needed funds to cover this costly procedure and follow-up care.

To help with some of these costs, Holly's friends and family have put together a benefit for her this Friday, July 31 from 6pm-11pm at the Fargo Holiday Inn.

They have lined up some amazing silent auction items (including a fun Pout basket of course), live DJ (John from BOB 95), and a whole lot more to make this a great night. Please plan to join us. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each at the door.

I had a case of the Mondays...

when I got up this morning. Lucy came home this weekend with a terrible diaper rash so she was up quite a bit last night which means my night consisted of very little sleep too! Anyway, you know the routine....hurry to get ready so I can get her up and ready, run out the door to make it to daycare in time for Lucy to get breakfast, run back home and finish getting ready, run to the store, run to the bank, run to get coffee, back to the store to frantically clean up the mess I left when I closed on Saturday and breathe...it's already 10am and I'm ready for a nap. Yep, it was a severe case of the Mondays until a nice man came to deliver this.

The amazing and sweet girls Dani and Sheri with On the Minds of Moms, sent us this with a beautiful card for our upcoming one year anniversary! I can't even tell you how much we appreciate this. Holly and I met these girls over a year ago now and clicked with them instantly. They were embarking on their journey with On the Minds of Moms at the same time we were frantically pulling together last minute details for the store. Somehow it was comforting to know that we weren't the only crazy girls that jumped into a new and scary venture in hopes to better our lives and the lives of our kids along with offering something to our community that we felt very passionate about. I know, I've been a bad blogger....

So partly because I couldn't find any creative juices this week, and partly because I was having too much fun reading new comments every day, I haven't blogged for a whole week. Sorry! I follow blogs daily and get really ANNOYED when things aren't updated frequently so I do honestly understand and again, I apologize. This got me to thinking that I should share one of our favorite blogs which is dooce.com. If you haven't run across this blog yet (I'm sure MANY of you have) it is an absolute must read for moms! The author of the blog, Heather Armstrong, was actually just recently listed on Forbes list of the 30 most influential women in media so she's no joke people! She is hilarious and so honest about motherhood and marriage. I do have to say however that she is also known to throw out curse words here and there so if you are easily offended by that sort of thing you probably don't want to check it out.

In other news, summer is coming to an end which became apparent this week when all of our Fall lines started sending out the shipping notices. Yes, fall clothes will start arriving this week which is exciting but sort of depressing too! I honestly am excited to see some of the great pieces we have coming because Holly and I actually knew more about the process this time around and were able to make more informed decision (if that's possible for us two shopaholics who want one of everything)! In fact, our nice UPS man is walking in with no less than 5 boxes for me as we speak....or as I type....you know what I mean.

Oh and I guess I should announce the winner of our beautiful Rag & Bone brag book.....Jolene (of Jeff and Jo). Congratulations! Now bring that cute little "S" in and pick up your prize!

New member of the Pout family

We've all been waiting patiently for my sister to deliver the very FIRST boy in our family and after suffering through 13 days over her due date, he's finally here.

Welcome to the world Andrew David! At 8lbs 15 oz and 20 1/2 inches he is a big boy. We love you so much already and haven't even met you yet! Your cousin Lucy and I will be there soon to give you lots of love and kisses little man.

Wet happened!

Aside from the cute name "wet happened" wet bags are reusable, washable, eco-friendly, and of course CUTE! Use for anything wet that you need to contain while on the go....cloth diapers, swim suits, wet clothing....anything you need. Because they have a zipper closure, they work great to contain the smells of anything you put inside (especially diapers).

We also received our Glitzy Gals washable nursing pads. I can't tell you how useful these would've been for me while I was nursing! The fact that they are reusable is a bonus for the environment but they are also so much softer than those uncomfortable disposable ones. They are lined with absorbent and eco-friendly bamboo which is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and deodorizing. It also helps to naturally wick breast milk from skin. Nursing is a hard enough job in itself so I'm all for anything that can make the process more comfortable! And the best part??? When you're done nursing they work great in the tub to suds up your little ones!

mmmmmmm, I LOVE Cake

Cake bags I mean (ok, so maybe I love the other kind of cake too but that's a whole other issue). Petunia Picklebottom is one of our favorite diaper bag companies but seriously, the "Cake" line clutches we received today are to die for! Not only do these offer all the great features and quality of Petunia diaper bags but I'm seriously considering buying one to use as a purse too! They are beautiful.....

Can you stand it??? We also received a few other styles from their original line that are gorgeous too so you'll have to stop in and check them out.
