cute AND cool...

Here at Pout, we carry some great layette and knits for babies but once your little one starts walking around, you want some more grown up outfits right? Well we found some great pieces for girls that can be dressy and/or casual like these two dresses....

And for the little guys we found the COOLEST line....little skater inspired pants and shorts sassy t's, cute bowler type shirts, and little skater hats! Your little man can look cool in this adorable line....

As usual, the pictures just can't capture how cute this stuff is so you'll have to stop in to see it yourself. We hope you love it as much as we do!

One last thing....we have officially decided to expand our sizes up to 4T begining in January of 2009. We can't wait to be able to offer our cute stuff to the little toddlers too!

Look who shopped at Pout today!

We had a great first day at Pout! Thanks to all who came in, shopped, and sent flowers! It was so much fun to begin to meet our customers. We hope to see you all again soon.

We had so many cute little ones come in today. We were lucky to capture a picture of this little sweetie, Gwen. She had so much fun playing in our play area and was reluctant to leave!

ready or not.....

OK, so we're ready for the big day tomorrow. Pout Baby Boutique will finally open it's doors at 10am TOMORROW! YIKES... After a year of planning and preparation the day has finally come and we couldn't be more excited! We look forward to seeing you all in the store.

In other news we got our Safe Sippy cups in yesterday. This was really exciting for us because we weren't expecting them until later in August. These sippy cups are so popular, ALWAYS on backorder and nearly impossible to get. Anyway, the girls have been using them for the past two days and seem to love them. The come in three fun colors with removable handles and are made of stainless steel so you don't have to worry about any problems with plastic. Check them out...

Nuks, nukies, pacis, plugs......

Pacifiers. Whatever you call them in your house, they're all the same. Now Natursutten has come out with a pacifier that is all natural and environmentally friendly! The pacifiers are extremely hygienic because they are molded in one piece. This means there is no joints or cracks where dirt and bacteria can accumulate. The pacifier shield is larger than conventional shields to help protect babies from squeezing the flexible material enough to get into their mouth.

OK....so they don't come in cutesie colors but they are a great product and we are really excited to be carrying them at Pout. The come in both the "orthodontic" style as pictured above, and the round style so if your baby already uses another type of pacifier, he or she should be able to adjust to these with no problem.

So, 4 days and counting until our big opening day! Can't wait to open our doors...

Big announcement....

So first of all we want to apologize for so many days between postings! We have been inputting all of our inventory into our computer system which was quite a task but WE ARE DONE! Just wanted to share the little project we worked on this week. The inside of the store is so fun that we wanted to give the outside some color as well. Take a look....

I know I'm not the greatest photographer (stop laughing Ria) and yes that is my reflection in the background.

Now, on to more important things. Obviously, July 21st is not going to be our open date. We are still waiting on a few display fixtures and have some little things here and there to get done before we are ready to open our doors. So.....we would like to officially announce that we will be open on July 28th. Yep, just one week and we'll be open for business. We are so excited and can't wait to see all of you in the store!

Oh...and one more thing. Our good friend AJ had a baby girl, Layla, at 2:30am this morning. Congratulations honey...we can't wait to meet her!

These aren't your momma's cloth diapers!

We are excited to announce that Pout will be carrying two different kinds of cloth diapers. I know when most people think of cloth diapers they think of too much work and too much mess, but these diapers are so easy and completely adorable. I used both of these brands with my daughter and I loved them. Isabelle has extremely sensitive skin and all disposable diapers gave her a sore bum.....poor little thing.

The BumGenius diapers are a one-size pocket diaper. This means that your baby can wear these diapers from birth until they are toilet trained. The Fuzzi Bunz diapers are also a pocket diaper, but come in sizes xs, s, m, l, and xl. Even though you have to buy multiple sizes, most children are able to wear the medium size for the majority of the time. Cloth diapers can save you thousands of dollars over the course of your child's diaper wearing years - even more if you use them on a second child! Because these diapers are so popular we are unable to get BumGenius until the middle or end of August. The Fuzzi Bunz diapers should be arriving this winter. We will however have samples in the store when we open so come on in and check them out!

In other news....our front counter was installed this week and our software is in!! The countdown to opening day begins....

Where did the week go?

So....it's Friday again which means we are another week closer to opening day. We are still anticipating either July 21 or 28 depending on the status of our computer/software. This week we were able to get the majority of our display fixtures up and are sending Holly's husband back to IKEA with a list this weekend to get more shelving! It is really coming together and it looks AMAZING! I thought we would give you a peek at some of my favorite and most functional products...Baby Bjorn. These products are so bright and fun and are so useful and practical at the same time. My little Lucy is quite the eater and the soft bib saves me from hours of cleaning restaurant floors! I'm telling you....these things catch EVERYTHING and I don't know how people live without them. Here are a few of the Bjorn products we will be carrying....

Yesterday

We managed to get a portion of our eco-friendly section put together yesterday - Thanks Dave! The products you see there are from Baby Soy, Isabooties, and Fleurville. Cute stuff!
















We were hoping to get a little more accomplished yesterday, but take a look at who we had helping us. Apparently we need to pay them a little better because they acted like disgruntled employees.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

After a relaxing 4th of July weekend we had to get back to work today! If you happen to drive by Pout take a look at our entrance - there is a great new sign in the window!

We finally moved all our our products out of Kris's basement and into the store. We are starting to put products on shelves and it is looking great. Here are a couple of items that we pulled out of the boxes today. These adorable (and funny) onesies are from Wry Baby.

This is just a portion of the boxes we left waiting for us when we return from our July 4th weekend! Since we anticipate opening soon, we are trying to take advantage of this weekend to relax a bit.....


Next week we have a lot of exciting things happening at the store:


Our sign will hopefully be up in the front window on Monday.

Our internet, phone, and computers will be set up.
Shelving and clothing racks will be installed.
And the most fun of all....more great products will be arriving daily!

Busy day!

After spending the morning at the store we picked up the girls early to get pictures taken (Isabelle's 2 1/2 year pictures and Lucy's one-year pictures.) Ria did an amazing job as usual (www.rialeephotography.com) and we can't wait to see them! Thanks again Ria....

The photo shoot was outdoors and HOT so afterward we thought the girls could use a little cooling off.

















Also, check out these bottles that we will be carrying. Not only are they adorable, but they are safe as well.



Because of the recent concern over leaching chemicals in plastic baby bottles Babylife is reintroducing glass bottles, but with an adorable twist. The bottle is covered with sleeve that is completely non-toxic and will also prevent breakage. The nipple is latex free and non-toxic and the plastic ring, plug and cap ontain no polycarbonates and are food grade, FDA approved and recyclable.
