Finally an update!
OK...so let me first apologize for being so bad about updating the blog! Between my baby starting Kindergarten, heading to market for Spring 2013, getting in new Fall stuff daily, and going to visit my cute boyfriend out of town it's been crazy around here.
First off..check out my girl on her first day of Kindergarten!!!
First off..check out my girl on her first day of Kindergarten!!!
So far she's loving it but it's been quite an adjustment for me. Who knew there would be so much "stuff" involved with school!?
Next, Spring market in Chicago...let me tell you I think Spring 2013 has some of the cutest lines EVER! Even though I think that about EVERY season it might really be true this time! Can't wait to start getting it in even though it won't start til January!
But even more important....check out some of the great new Fall things that are coming in every day!
There is so much coming in every day so be sure to stop in and check things out. Thanks so much for being patient with my terrible updating and hope to see you soon!

Woot Woot Wednesday!
This weeks momma is another one of my favorite girlies....
Customer: Ranelle - momma of two: Evelyn 2 1/2 and Oscar, 9 months
Item: Baltic Amber Teething necklace
Why she thinks its "woot woot" worthy (in her words): I first put my Baltic Amber necklace on my son, Oscar when he was 4 months old. He started drooling like crazy and chewing on everything. I had heard of these Amber beads when I had my daughter Evelyn, but didn’t really think something like that would really work, so never got one. They have helped SO much with the drooling, I haven’t been up at night when he’s uncomfortable and he hasn’t had one fever or ear infection! My daughter had multiple ear infections while cutting teeth; I would give her Tylenol/Ibuprofen to help with fever and discomfort.
I have been so happy with my Amber necklace; you can either put it around your babies’ neck or ankle. The Genuine Baltic amber necklaces are designed with special string that is knotted between each bead so that if the necklace should brake, the beads will not scatter. I recommend this everyone that has a baby!!
Thanks Ranelle!

Pacimals are FINALLY here!
After LOTS and LOTS of requests we finally got in our first shipment of Pacimals pacifier holders! This brand is similar to others on the market but what makes it unique is that the pacifier in actually detatchable so you can clean both the animal and pacifier. They also offer adapters so you can use your own type of pacifier if you'd like. They were created by a doctor and first time mom whose baby loved the pacifier but didn't have the coordination to hold it on her own. It doesn't hurt that they come in over a dozen animals and even offer different color pacifiers.
Happy Tuesday!

Lucy's going to Kindergarten!
I realized the other day that my baby will be in school before I know it so it was time to research cute backpacks! Here's what I found from Beatrix NY...
Seriously, could these be cuter? And even better, they are large enough for folders and school "stuff" and from what I hear they are virtually indestructable. Plus, they even have cute lunch boxes/bags to go along with them.
Have a great weekend!

Woot Woot Wednesday!
Customer: Lauren - momma of Peyton, 5 months
Item: The Itzbeen baby care timer (now called the Pocket Nanny)
Why she thinks its "woot woot" worthy (in her words): My daughter is 5 months old and we purchased this when she was 4 weeks and are STILL using it daily! It's a little handheld timer that has 4 buttons: one for sleep, one for feeding, one for diaper changes and one for 'medicine' or whatever you want to use it for. This thing has been a lifesaver for us! You just push the button once you do each activity and let it go - then whenever you think 'How long has it been since....?' you can just look at the timer and see 'Oh, she ate 2 hours 47 mins ago!' It's awesome. With both my husband and myself taking turns giving bottles, changing diapers, putting down for naps, etc it's been so handy to see 'since when' the other has done something. I give this at every baby shower I attend now, and recommend it to everyone! Keeping our baby on a schedule was important to us for a happy, content little one and this product worked like a charm for us to achieve that!
Thanks Lauren! Peyton is such a cutie pie!

Customer: Ashley - Momma of two - Jackson and Beckett
Item: The Lobster chair by Phil & Teds
Why she thinks its "woot woot" worthy (in her words):Our family loves the lobster chair! It is so perfect for our 18 month old son, Beckett to use when we are constantly on-the-go! We use it at restaurants, on our outdoor table at the lake, when we go to grandma's for dinner and last weekend we were able to use it at a wedding reception and grad party! I love that we can use that instead of a germy highchair. I just keep it in my van, so it is always with us! The bag that comes with it, is perfect for storing a bib, diaper and wipes! We love our lobster!
Check out her lil man Beckett using the Lobster for a lunch date with his momma...
Thanks Ashley!
Remember to shoot me an email at kris@poutbabyandkids.com if you have any Woot Woot worthy items you've purchased that you'd like to talk about on the blog.

Woot Woot Wednesday!
Customer: Holly - Momma of two - Isabelle, 6 and Henry, 7 months...oh and most importantly MY BESTIE and co-founder of Pout!
Item: The Nose Frida - Snot sucker
Why she thinks its "woot woot" worthy (in her words):When anyone asks me the one baby item I couldn't live without, the answer is always my Nose Frida!
When we brought Henry home from the hospital we came home with trusty blue bulb syringe that the hospital gives you. Within a week of being home and trying to use that to clear his tiny nose I was ready to try something different.
My first thought upon seeing the Nose Frida was "really?". But as any mom knows you will do anything to make your baby comfortable.
There was a little learning curve to figure it out but a couple days later I was hooked. It works best for us to use a mist saline spray, wait a few seconds, and then use the Nose Frida. I was amazed at how much gunk it could pull out of my little guys nose! I recommend it to everyone I know. It is a definite "Must Have" for anyone with a baby!
How cute are my favorite lil family? It is actually thanks to Holly that I even started carrying these. After she tried it and raved about it, I KNEW we had to have it at Pout!
Thanks again Holly..

I'm excited to announce a new weekly feature to the blog called....WOOT WOOT Wednesdays! I always have customers calling/emailing/texting about how much they love something they bought here at the store and I thought what better advertising could there be? So here it is, our very first....
Customer: Jess - A busy momma of four cute kiddos.
Item: the Keekaroo Cafe Booster seat
Why she thinks its "woot woot" worthy (in her words):
"When looking for an alternative to the high chair for my toddler, my biggest concerns were my child's safety and not damaging the chair. After looking at many boosters, I knew the Keekaroo Booster was the right choice. I I love that the booster is secured to the chair, and my child is secured to the booster seat. Except for the straps, the chair cleans up very easily. Plus, after our child outgrows it, I will keep it for little guests because it's very small to store."
And how cute is her lil one showing off her seat? Thanks so much Jess. I'm so glad you love it!
For more on the booster, click here.
If YOU want to rave about something you purchased here at Pout, shoot me an email at kris@poutbabyandkids.com. I'd love to hear from you!

Had to share...
A friend of mine got me hooked on this awesome gals website and I had to share this... Check her out at daniellelaporte.com
This is Your Guarantee of Failure. Proceed anyway.
GUARANTEED, FOR SURE, NO WAY OUT, GONNA HAPPEN, ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY CERTAIN:
You will fail. At some point. More than once.
You will get hurt.
You’re going to get dumped, broken up with. Betrayed, even.
Heart broken. Heart.BROKEN.
You might get kicked out, rejected, canned. Denied entry.
Not invited.
You will be criticized.
You will be denied.
You’ll be too late.
You’ll give up too soon.
You’ll misread the fine print, sign a bad deal, and it’ll cost ya — dearly. You will miss opportunities, miss the mark, let some precious part of life pass you by. You won’t win. You will lose.
You will be wounded and you’ll have scars — that show.
You’ll have regrets.
And things you wish you could do over.
You’ll say things you wished you had never said.
There will be many, many things that you’ll wish you had said — fiercely loving and bravely tender things, righteously justice-rendering things that could change everything — but instead, you’ll fail to rise in the way you wanted to.
There’s no mystery, there’s no avoiding it, and no one born has ever, or will ever, be immune. Failing is as certain as sunsets and detours. So why exert energy avoiding the avoidable? Shift your energy from protecting yourself from failure to squeezing the life out of life.
Let your guard down, take the breaks off, and tear up that insurance policy – it was a rip off anyway. The status quo has been feeding you factory-grade illusions. Sign up, speak up, get out, and get it on. You will fail. At some point. More than once. Guaranteed. Proceed anyway.
Happy Thursday... Kris

How cute is Holly's lil man Henry in the cute new outfit we got in? It's nice to have a boy around to model for us :)
A few weeks ago for Lu's FIFTH birthday, Holly and I (and her hubby Luke) brought the kiddos on a trip to Minneapolis for a little fun instead of having a big birthday party. Needless to say...we had SO MUCH fun! Here's a few of the highlights....
We surprised the girls with matching Ooh lala outfits for them and their American Girl dolls Rosie & McKenna.
Manicures...
Birthday lunch at American Girl...
Then onto the rides! Seriously...I think this is my favorite picture of the trip! Is it wrong that Holly and I are laughing hysterically while our kids are completely and totally horrified?!
It really was a much needed vacation for all of us. With Holly living in Valley City we just don't see them enough so I think this might have to become an annual tradition.
Also...our Memorial Day hours will be the same as usual with the exception that we will be CLOSED on Monday. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday! Kris

I hate to brag....

Two of my favorite products were winners in their categories....
The Phil & Ted's Lobster was winner of "The One thing you should NEVER travel without"
Always a Pout favorite the Baby Bjorn Soft bib won for "Best pocketed bib for messy eaters"
Other runner's up in their categories were products by Little Giraffe, My Brest friend, Aden & Anais, Baby K'tan, Ergo, and Petunia Picklebottom.
