My friend Melissa who I've known since high school is doing a great thing that I thought I'd pass along.
During parent/teacher conferences for her oldest son, she was made aware of the fact that there are 5 kids in Anthony's class that do not receive milk each day at milk break. 5 kids that cannot receive it because there families cannot afford it. When she had the conversation with his teacher about it she thought instead of feeling sorry for them she was going to try raise the funds needed. So starting in December Melissa's goal is for them to receive milk just like their friends every day. She needs to raise $420 total and anything that goes over that she will be donating to Reinertsen School for any other kids that are not receiving milk. To make a donation you can go here. On Melissa's behalf, I thank you for all of your support and helping to "be the change"!

Junior League of Fargo Moorhead is doing the same thing for Madison Elementary in North Fargo. Last year it was made to our attention that only two kids in one of the fifth grade classes were getting milk and snack, while their other classmates sat and watched. For only $29, you can sponsor a kid in our community for an entire semester. Interested in more? Contact junior league at: fmjuniorleague@yahoo.com
