Time for a SALE!

It's hard to believe it'll be January by the end of the week with NO SNOW on the ground in Fargo, ND but I'm not complaining! The funny thing is that starting next week my Spring season of clothes will begin shipping and even though it seems WAY EARLY (as usual) I'm so excited for some new things! So....to make room for the new stuff it's time to have a SALE! All Fall/Winter clothes are at least 20% off and there is also an extra 10% off all previously marked down Sale items.

Lucy and I had a great Christmas and the best part is that when my dad asked what her favorite part of Christmas was she said "Going on a nature walk with momma". So much for the hundreds of dollars I spent on presents huh? Here's my girl enjoying her "nature walk" with the handful of snow she was able to find. (sorry it's so blurry)

And ever the fashion diva modeling by the tree at Brunch...

That's my girl!

Exciting new product line...

Last year one of my friends put me in touch with a friend of hers that was in the process of designing a unique line of baby clothes. We had the opportunity to hang out a bit when I was at market in Chicago and I knew she was determined enough to make this a go. Well, here were are about a year or so later and her line has launched and we are lucky enough to have some of the line in Pout! So proud of you Kate...

Twotara, Inc. was born out of the frustration of buying uninspired gender neutral gifts. With 40% of expectant parents not learning the sex of the baby until birth--the Twotara clothing line has your baby covered! This premier product line is redefining the newborn, gender neutral market with garments that are pink on one side, blue on the other.

Twotara, headquartered in Chicago, has launched an innovative line of garments and accessories by offering expectant moms an alternative to green and yellow. We have designed whimsical, yet sophisticated outfits that are gender specific…and right every time!

Pink or Blue... ready for you!

Stop in and check it out!

NoseFrida the Snotsucker

Yep...sounds disgusting but after MANY customers asking for it and my very best friend Holly using it on her little Henry, I'm sold!

So, what IS the NoseFrida Snotsucker?
FridaBaby is a small “Mom-preneur” company founded by Kaisa Levine 4 years ago when she discovered Nosefrida while visiting family in Sweden with a sick baby. Kaisa and her business partner, Sarah Perilli, have spread the word about Nosefrida the Snotsucker in the U.S. and Canada, where it has developed a large following of pediatricians, ENTs, pulmonologists, nurses, midwives, and of course, moms & dads!
It’s smart.
It’s Swedish.
It’s maybe a little strange.
It’s doctor invented & recommended.
It’s 100% hygienic due to the included filters (4).
It’s fabulously reviewed (Rachel Ray, Parenting, & more).
It’s a nasal aspirator that ACTUALLY WORKS!
It’s NoseFrida. The Snotsucker.

When I asked Holly if there was anything specific I should mention about it she responded with... "I seriously LOVE it! You have to suck hard to make it work but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. I'm amazed at what I can get out of his nose. Even when you can't see anything in there it will pull snot and boogers out!"

Well said.

Bellybuds!

If you ask Curtis Williams (creator and co-founder), the inspiration for bellybuds happened during the 2nd trimester of his wife’s pregnancy with their first child.

“We had read that playing prenatal music to the womb was beneficial – so right around the fifth month, my wife began placing her ipod earbuds on her belly and playing classical music for our daughter. The only problem was that in order to do that, she had to lie on her back and couldn’t move – which is a lot to ask of my multi-tasking wife. It seemed like there was a possibility for something more convenient.”

After searching the internet and finding nothing designed specifically for the playing of prenatal music or other sounds from a digital music player to a developing baby in the womb, Curtis decided to pursue the idea. he contacted a friend who was a product designer to help design and engineer the piece. Initially, he asked him to help make a one of a kind product for his wife, but as they worked on the idea and talked about it with others, Curtis realized that the concept might have a broader appeal. That’s when the endeavor began in earnest to create bellybuds!

Hope you all had a great weekend and remember we are now OPEN ON SUNDAYS from noon - 5pm.

Another fun and super functional find at market!

While I was rushing around market a few months ago, this product grabbed my attention while they were doing a demonstration of how it works at their booth. Initially I though...yep, ANOTHER bottle warmer. Until that is, I looked closer. Meet the Kozii Breastmilk warmer & bottle warmer.

◦As fast as steam
◦As safe as warm tap water
◦As easy as the microwave
Kozii is designed specifically to follow CDC and USDA guidelines to safely thaw and warm breastmilk using warm, flowing water.

Kozii uses a low temperature, nutrient-safe water bath that is safe for ALL bottle and bag types. The water in the warmer is about as warm as warm tap water. This allows you to warm your little one's meal without exposing bags and bottles to dangerous steam, hot or boiling water, or the microwave. Kozii uses patent-pending technology, specifically designed to eliminate the risk of hot spots, nutrient damage, and dangerous chemicals that can be released from plastic bottles at high temperatures.

After talking to one of the developers of this product who explained that he came up with this while staying home with his baby girl, I was SOLD. Plus, it didn't hurt that when he was talking about his daughter he got choked up a little. That'll get me every time :)

Where do I begin?

There has been SO MUCH new stuff coming in I'm not sure where to start!

After a friend recommended these last year, I finally got the Elephant Ears in stock yesterday! Check them out....

Unparalleled in style and function, Baby Elephant Ears is a multi-use headrest providing spinal/neck alignment and comfort – offered in diverse prints and organics, ethically manufactured and made with sustainable materials.

Chiropractor-inspired and mom-designed, Baby Elephant Ears can go wherever baby goes – stroller, swing, carseat, changing table, wherever and whenever support is needed. Baby Elephant Ears is fully washable and requires no attachments, straps or special skills – just simple, loving use.

Pretty awesome huh?

If you haven't met all of the Pout "girls" yet, you will soon as they are helping me more and more and I'm so lucky to have them! Crystal, Jana, and Abby will be helping me as we officially will be OPEN ON SUNDAYS from 12-5pm beginning this week!

As we get closer to the holiday season, remember that we have lots of unique toys and gifts that you can't find at the big box stores. This time of year especially, remember to shop local whenever you can. There are so many great local businesses in town that are only around because of the great customers that support them. Remember the powerful motto of the 3/50 Project...Pick 3. Spend 50. Save your local economy.

Meet Henry

After a crazy week I just realized I almost forgot to share the MOST EXCITING news EVER!!! Holly finally had her baby boy and it's almost silly how much I love this kid. Isn't he perfect?

This morning Holly texted me "I feel so lucky to have this baby!" and I can only imagine because I feel so lucky to have this little boy in my life and he's not even mine! Holly and I have been through soooo many major life changes together and even though we don't technically work together anymore, I can't imagine my life without her, Isabelle, and now Henry (ok and Luke too :)). Lucy is over the moon for this little guy too and we can't wait to snuggle him some more this weekend. And look at how little miss Isabelle is with him...

Now that is a proud big sister!

We love you Henry and are so happy you are here!

More fun holiday gift ideas!

I was pretty skeptical about these pedal-free balance bike when I first heard of them a few years ago. Then after talking to moms that have them for their kids, I was sold on the idea!

Prince Lionheart’s balanceBIKE will teach your child balance – a crucial skill necessary before transitioning to a two-wheeled pedal bicycle. Your child’s sense of independence and self-confidence will become evident as they learn to balance and steer at their own pace: first walking, then gliding. Then VOILA, no training wheels needed! And...it doesn't hurt that they are ADORABLE either.

Just like the wheely bugs, this is my last shipment before the Holidays so if you are interested it getting one for your little one, stop in before they're gone!

Cool tees for cool kids (and babies too).

We got in some awesome t-shirts in this week and I can't wait to show them off. Although some of them look more geared to boys, I think Lucy might need to have some and pair them with a fun skirt.

And seriously...what baby girl DOESN'T need this onesie?

Organic cuteness!

These were definitely one of my favorite purchases of my recent trip to market. Made with 100% organic cotton and 100% eco-spun felt applique (made from recycled plastic bottles!)

Help your kids clean up their act with these cute animal storage bins. Well sized for storing toys, books or laundry the storage bin measures 17.5" in height and 17" in diameter. Made of a heavy organic cotton canvas this bin is tough enough to hold whatever you throw in it but cute enough to complement the best dressed home. A great space saver the bin folds easily away when not in use. The 3 Sprouts organic storage bin is a perfect gift for babies, toddlers and kids. I brought the pink elephant one home for lucy and she was actually EXCITED to pick up all her stuffed animals!

And check out the fun hooded towels from the same company, 3 Sprouts! Also made from 100% organic cotton knit and 100% natural un-dyed cotton terry towel this is the softest and most adorable hooded towels around!

National Babywearing week!

In honor of National Baby Wearing week, I wanted to remind you of the great carriers we carry here at Pout! First, the Baby K'tan is what I used with Lucy and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I tried SO many carriers and this one absolutely was the most functional one I tried. It comes in basic colors of black, brown, sage green and brand new Eggplant which is beautiful.

And...by POPULAR DEMAND, we finally began carrying the Ergo carrier last Fall which has quickly become one of our best selling products! The exciting addition of the Organic carriers in beautiful Petunia Picklebottom prints have taken this basic and super functional carrier to a whole new level of cuteness!

If you need help figuring out what type of carrier would work best for you stop in and we'll help you try some on!
