A customer asked me about these awhile back and after seeing them I can't believe I didn't get them sooner! How annoying is it to always be digging those carseat straps out from under your little one? I STILL deal with that on Lucy's seat and it's almost worse now that she's so big. These genius little things attach to the sides of your carseat and magnetically hold the car seat straps open so you can get your baby/child in and out without them laying or sitting on them. Brilliant right?

Time for a SALE!

It's hard to believe it'll be January by the end of the week with NO SNOW on the ground in Fargo, ND but I'm not complaining! The funny thing is that starting next week my Spring season of clothes will begin shipping and even though it seems WAY EARLY (as usual) I'm so excited for some new things! So....to make room for the new stuff it's time to have a SALE! All Fall/Winter clothes are at least 20% off and there is also an extra 10% off all previously marked down Sale items.

Lucy and I had a great Christmas and the best part is that when my dad asked what her favorite part of Christmas was she said "Going on a nature walk with momma". Holiday hours

Christmas is just DAYS away so I thought I better update everyone on our hours. Today we will be open regular hours of 10am-6pm, Saturday: 10am-2pm and Sunday (Christmas day) we will be closed to celebrate with our families. Normal hours will resume again on Monday.

Bellybuds!

If you ask Curtis Williams (creator and co-founder), the inspiration for bellybuds happened during the 2nd trimester of his wife’s pregnancy with their first child.

“We had read that playing prenatal music to the womb was beneficial – so right around the fifth month, my wife began placing her ipod earbuds on her belly and playing classical music for our daughter. The only problem was that in order to do that, she had to lie on her back and couldn’t move – which is a lot to ask of my multi-tasking wife. It seemed like there was a possibility for something more convenient.”

After searching the internet and finding nothing designed specifically for the playing of prenatal music or other sounds from a digital music player to a developing baby in the womb, Curtis decided to pursue the idea. he contacted a friend who was a product designer to help design and engineer the piece. Initially, he asked him to help make a one of a kind product for his wife, but as they worked on the idea and talked about it with others, Curtis realized that the concept might have a broader appeal. That’s when the endeavor began in earnest to create bellybuds!

While I was rushing around market a few months ago, this product grabbed my attention while they were doing a demonstration of how it works at their booth. Initially I though...yep, ANOTHER bottle warmer. Until that is, I looked closer. Meet the Kozii Breastmilk warmer & bottle warmer.

Since Halloween is coming up, I thought I'd use it as an excuse to have a SALE! From now through Monday, October 31st all regular priced SHOES will be BUY ONE, GET ONE HALF OFF.

Meet Henry

After a crazy week I just realized I almost forgot to share the MOST EXCITING news EVER!!! Holly finally had her baby boy and it's almost silly how much I love this kid. Isn't he perfect?

This morning Holly texted me "I feel so lucky to have this baby!" and I can only imagine because I feel so lucky to have this little boy in my life and he's not even mine! Holly and I have been through soooo many major life changes together and even though we don't technically work together anymore, I can't imagine my life without her, Isabelle, and now Henry (ok and Luke too :)). Lucy is over the moon for this little guy too and we can't wait to snuggle him some more this weekend. And look at how little miss Isabelle is with him...

Now that is a proud big sister!

I was pretty skeptical about these pedal-free balance bike when I first heard of them a few years ago. Then after talking to moms that have them for their kids, I was sold on the idea!

These were definitely one of my favorite purchases of my recent trip to market. Made with 100% organic cotton and 100% eco-spun felt applique (made from recycled plastic bottles!)

National Babywearing week!

In honor of National Baby Wearing week, I wanted to remind you of the great carriers we carry here at Pout! First, the Baby K'tan is what I used with Lucy and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I tried SO many carriers and this one absolutely was the most functional one I tried. It comes in basic colors of black, brown, sage green and brand new Eggplant which is beautiful.

Whirlwind trip

I just got back from big ABC (All Baby & Child) Expo and even though it was a quick two days, I'm so excited about all the fun new stuff I found. A bottle warmer made specifically with breastmilk in mind, LOTS of fun new toys, new diaper bags, NEW strollers built for two (or three), baths, highchairs.... Too many things to list! As much as we hate to admit it, Fall is just around the corner so it's time to stock up on all the colder weather accessories. Aden & Anais' dream blanket can be used year round but is especially cozy when the colder weather arrives. First, let me apologize for the delay in posts! I was off to Chicago for market last week and have been playing catch up ever since! It was a whirlwind trip but it's always exciting to see the next season's lines. Now back to reality....

Even with the 80 degree temps outside, we've been getting new Fall clothing DAILY! As much as I hate to think of the weather getting cold, I have to say it's so fun getting new things in again. We have LOTS of new girl up to SIZE 8yr but are still waiting on most of our boy stuff except for these cute 2-piece sets...

I'll work on getting the new things online this week but first I have to share the exciting NEW product that came in today. Phil & Ted's Lobster portable high chair!

I just realized it's been an entire week since my last post! After an fun weekend away with Lucy there was a lot of catch up to be done so I apologize for the break!

This Saturday we will be open our regular hours of 10am-5pm so stop in if you are in town for the long weekend. We will also be open from 10am-2pm on Memorial day and will be having a fun SALE so check back this weekend for more details.

These are hands down one of my favorite items we've ever carried! Lucy still wears hers for jammies and there is nothing cuter! I have a lot of boy moms that also pair the tank with other bottoms to make it more of an outfit. Well, they're back and in brand new colors...RED & GRAY! Sooo cute! Don't wait long though because these always sell out FAST!

Another new thing for the mommas...

We are slowly but surely adding product for mommas and this is a must have! I bet I get at LEAST one request a week for these and now they are here! The Bella Band!

Ingrid, the creator of Bella Band, was newly pregnant and dressing for work when there it was: her belly popped! She wasn't big enough to fill maternity wear, yet there was no possibility of buttoning her pants. Safety pins were bulky, rubber bands were uncomfortable, larger sizes looked sloppy, and when your blouse rises up it exposes your poor attempts to hold up your pants! After panicking about how she was going to hide that her pants didn't quite fit, she tried a tube-top over her waistband. It was thick and not sized properly for a growing belly, but it worked! Eventually, she introduced the Bella Band and I think she says it perfectly... "Let's celebrate our changing bodies and dress with confidence because we deserve to look and feel beautiful."

My Baby...

I hate to admit it but my "baby" is no longer a "baby"! Today, my little Lucy turns FOUR! When I woke her up this morning she asked me if she looked bigger....unfortunately she does. At least bigger than this.

We had her birthday party this weekend at Games Galore and the kids had a BLAST and I MAY have gone down the blow up slide once or twice too! The best part was the beautiful cupcakes and cookies that I had made (Yes, that means I didn't make them myself. I'm a terrible baker!)

I know I've been TERRIBLE at keeping the blog updated! I'm hoping things have calmed down enough for me to get back on track.

It's Easter week and if you haven't already found that perfect outfit for your little one, we still have a lot to choose from. I love so many of the dresses this season that I'm not sure which one Lucy's actually going to wear! We headed over to Ria's last week to take some Spring clothing pics for some upcoming ads and as usual, she captured Lucy and her friend Sammy better than I could've hoped for.

We also have some great Easter basket goodies to choose from so stop in if you still need some fun little things to fill those baskets.

While decorating our eggs this past weekend Lucy started asking lots of questions about the Easter bunny and what happens with the eggs. "What does the Easter bunny do with the eggs we leave him?", "Does he hide the eggs for us to find or do we hide them?", "Do we hide the real eggs or the ones with candy inside?". I didn't know how to answer any of them!! I wasn't even aware that you were supposed to leave eggs for the Easter bunny. Before you start feeling bad for my deprived childhood let me tell you, my parents always gave us the BEST Easter baskets! We woke up Easter morning to beautiful baskets filled with candy, stuffed bunnies, blow up bunnies (I loved that year), and every other Easter-y thing you can imagine. We never did however do any type of Easter egg hunt. Ever. So that got me thinking...What types of Easter traditions does your family follow? Lucy is already 3 so I need to get on the ball with this one! Here's a shot of Lu working hard on her eggs. It was pretty serious business!

Teething necklace update

For those of you patiently waiting on the teething necklaces, we should have some by the end of the week (but hopefully tomorrow)! It seems my shipment that was supposed to be here on the 8th was lost :(

We've been getting more and more cute Spring stuff in every day. Here's a sneak peek...

The Chewbeads are also restocked but going quickly so stop in if you are interested in a certain color.

There has been new Spring stuff arriving every day and it's so darn adorable! Our new Daily Tea and Tea shipment is here and I am in love with it all! Definitley my favorite season yet.

Giving hearts day

On February 10, 2011, Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) will hold the 4th annual Giving Hearts Day. For one day only, DMF and other generous donors will match contributions of $10 or more made online to benefit all of the charitable causes listed here. The selection process for participants is competitive as there are more organizations eligible to participate than funding available.

Giving Hearts Day is an innovative, online fundraising program made possible through a partnership between Impact, Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), nonprofits trained through the Impact Institute and other community donors. This 24 hour fundraising event reinforces the Institute’s High Impact Fundraising Training by giving nonprofits an opportunity to use the concepts they learned to raise awareness about their organizations, identify new donors, and secure more money for their missions.

As some of you may know, the Dakota Medical Foundation helped me after a medical crisis and I can't tell you how grateful I am to them. Let's help them make a difference! It's easy to donate and all online donations are tax deductable. Go here

Things I learned on my market trip to Chicago....

1. That I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE direct flights from Fargo. I literally boarded 5 minutes before take off!

2. It's ALWAYS better to see things in person. I am amazed at how differently clothes can look in person. Making the trip to Chicago takes time away from the store and Lucy but it's definitely worth it!

3. That they do in fact sell shrimp at Walmart and this girl...

eats it (and loves it)!

4. My friend Rita and I look drunk in ALL pictures even if we've only had one drink.

5. That I CAN'T WAIT for Fall to start shipping in June. Most exciting of all is I ordered up to size 8!!! Pout is expanding sizes! YAY!

6. Coming home to my Lulu is about the best thing in the world.

oh...and that she's even cute with a black eye!
