Yes, I know it seems nuts...

but it's Eco-nuts (oooh...that was corny, sorry)! I've been waiting patiently to get this great product in and now that it's here I can't wait to go home and try it out! What is an Eco Nut you ask?

Well, Eco nuts are completely sustainable dried fruit shells that come from the Sapindus mukorossi tree in Nepal, India and Indonesia. These fruit shells have been used in India and China for centuries, and are just now gaining popularity in America and Europe as a renewable, biodegradable and organic alternative to chemical detergents and expensive "green" laundry soaps.

Eco nuts contain saponin, a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric and leaving dirt suspended in the water to be rinsed away. They are gentle on both clothes and skin, making them ideal for those with sensitive skin, eczema, allergies and psoriasis. Because they are so mild and leave no residuals, they are perfect for baby clothes and cloth diapers! The antimicrobial properties also make them great for septic and grey water systems as well as in both regular or high efficiency machines.

And the best part? The money savings! One medium box of Eco Nuts can be used for up to 50 hot or 90 cold loads of laundry and retails for just $12 (trial size are also available for just $5)!!! The reviews I've gotten from people who have used them have been really positive so I can't wait to go home and do laundry. Wait...did I really just say that?

A natural way to clean their teeth...or lack there of.

Before your little guy or girl sprouts teeth you don't need to worry about caring for their dental hygiene right? Well, that's what I thought until I learned more about Xylitol and it's benefits for your child's overall health. Xylitol is a naturally occuring substance known to inhibit cavity causing & plaque forming bacteria. Other studies have also shown that when certain bacteria are exposed to xylitol, they lose their ability to stick to the tissues in the mouth, nose and upper respitory tract. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, today we got in a few xylitol products to help start your child off right and support their good oral health.

Tooth tissues were invented by two dentists that knew that although cleaning your child's teeth and gums everyday is necessary to prevent decay, it's not always that simple. These tissues make it a bit easier. Not only do they contain Xylitol but they are also uniquely textured for plaque removal, can be used begining at birth, and are flouride, paraben, and sugar-free!

If tooth tissues aren't your thing, we also got in Spry tooth gel which provides a rich source of dental xylitol and can either be rubbed on the gums & teeth or administered through their specially designed pacifier. As your child sucks on the pacifier, teeth and gums are coated with the xylitol and tooth strengthening calcium.

For older children, you can even use the tooth gel on their toothbrush which unlike toothpaste, Spry is SAFE TO SWALLOW.

Pretty interesting huh?

NEW Zoo packs!

As if the monkey, puppy, mouse and penguin weren't cute enough, look at the NEW toddler back packs we got in this morning!

I also want to send BIG hugs to our little Isabelle who landed herself in the hospital this weekend with PNEUMONIA! Poor little peanut is feeling better and should be out later today. Lucy and I went to visit her yesterday and they had lots of fun "riding" on the hospital bed. She looks so small in that big bed and as Holly said, it really makes you thankful for healthy kids. We love you Izzy!

You put WHAT in WHERE???

I've heard of other kids doing stuff like this so I don't know why I was surprised this morning when I realized Lucy had stuffed a LONG piece of string IN HER NOSE!?! I mean, this is the kid that almost choked on a band-aid that she pulled off her owie and tried to EAT in the middle of the night. I so blame this on her dad's genes...

Anyway, I got part of it out but after many attempts to suck the rest of it out, we were off to the walk in to have it removed. She was really broken up about it. She could hardley enjoy the fish in the waiting room.

pre-op

and it's out! Even Lucy looks a little disgusted with herself!

Thanks to the wonderful Dr. Kooyer at Urgent Med for letting me take pictures during my bouts of laughter about the whole situation! I swear, part of me thinks she might've done it all for the sticker!

In other news, my adorable but drooly little nephew is staying with my parents this weekend and last night we tried the Amber Teething bracelet/anklet on him and it works like a charm! His poor little chin has been breaking out from the constant drooling and since we put it on he's DRY! I'm totally a believer!

Have a great weekend!

girls night out!

Because Holly's hubby Luke is still deployed, it makes it hard for us single mommas to get out on the town very often. This past Saturday that is exactly what we did and we were excited to have Holly's big sister along with us! She drove all the way up from Eureka, SD to come to the Indigo Girls show at the Fargo Theater.

Aside from being "shushed" by a very unpleasant older woman that apparently thought we were at a library rather than a concert, it was complete and total AWESOMENESS! I had forgotten how beautiful the Fargo Theater is and it was so great to have a night out. I even saw a few of you customers there which is always fun too.

On the store front, we finally got in the Melissa & Doug Apple Pie set which I can't wait to give Lucy for her upcoming birthday!

All of our Melissa & Doug food sets are such a big hit and if Lucy's LOVE for the ice cream cone set is any indication, she is going to LOVE this one too. It even comes with a mini oven mitt!

Stop in and check them out as these always go quickly!

Have a great day and enjoy this beautiful weather.

teach me time

When we saw this product we knew we had to have it!
Teach Me Time! is an adorable child's bedside alarm clock, time-teaching tool and dual-color nightlight all in one. The collective features of this educational toy are designed to grow with your child from the day they are first out of the crib.

Not only is it a great tool to help kids learn how to associate both analog & digital clocks, but it also helps them determine when it is ok to get out of bed in the morning. Holly has been using it with Isabelle who has been known for getting out of bed in the wee hours of the morning and crawling in with mom. Now, she knows that until the light on the clock changes color, it's not time to get up! Seriously awesome! Plus, when your little ones are no longer little, you can use it just like a regular alarm clock.

It also comes with three different color plates - blue, yellow, and pink.

Also, look at a few of these great baby boy rompers we got in yesterday!

Enjoy the great weather!

toddler trap?

Before anyone calls CPS on me, let me explain. This is what I found last night at 10:45pm when I went in to check on Lucy before I went to bed. She's laying in her hamper! I had taken the bag that lines the hamper out to throw in the laundry so apparently she couldn't resist playing with it...in the dark...completely silently. I didn't hear a peep out of this girl after putting her to bed so she must've been in stealth mode while getting herself into this position. I'm still laughing about this one!

On the store front, we received some adorable "big kid"(sizes 10-12) sandals for both boy & girl from See Kai Run's sister line Eleven.

These last ones come in both black & brown and are the perfect basic but cute sandal!
Happy Monday!

look at our little Izzy!

So if you haven't picked up your new issue of On the Minds of Moms, you better get out there and grab one. I just had to share the ADORABLE picture of Holly's little Isabelle in the table of contents that Ria captured. CUTE! Not to mention the adorable picture of her in our Pout ad! And then there is the announcement of our CUTEST BABY CONTEST winner, my friends Kate & Stacy who are featured as "mompenuers" this month, and the cover story by Patricia Carlson that made me cry (as usual), and the article on teen dating (which I am dreading by the way), and the sweet pic of one of my favorite mommy & daughter customers in the back, and...well, it's too much to list all of the great stuff. If you aren't in the Fargo-Moorhead area (or even if you are in Fargo-Moorhead and just want a fresh issue delivered to your door) and want info on how to subscribe, go to their site at www.onthemindsofmoms.com.

Don't forget to post an answer on yesterdays post for a chance to win a free tuition for a babysigns class. Hopefully we'll see you for story time tomorrow!
