Baby Bjorn

Baby Bjorn is one of our favorite companies here at Pout. They carry incredibly durable products at a great price. Here are our Bjorn faves!

Also, our supply of Earth Muffin Skin Care is fully stocked. This skincare has been worked miracles on Isabelle's incredibly sensitive skin. I love it!

I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

9.13.09

is a day I will never forget. Thankfully I've been thinking of this date as the day I "lived" instead of the day I almost didn't. Something like this sure changes your perspective on a lot of things. Most people that know me are aware that I'm a huge worrier (and most of them are probably laughing at this huge understatement). One major thing this accident has taught me is that life, family, and friends are what matters most. I appreciate so much all of the prayers and sweet comments I've received! Every day is getting better and I'm hoping to back at the store full time soon. Right now I've been able to do a few hours here and there but not as much as I would like. The good new though is that I finally got the staples out of my head....ugh, it gives me the chills just thinking about it!

Just to show that we did have a few hours of fun in Vegas, here is a picture we took at the Bellagio just minutes before the "accident".
So on to better things! Holly and Isabelle are currently in Indianapolis visiting Luke for the weekend before he heads overseas for his deployment. Although it's been raining like crazy there they are having fun and she even texted my that Indianapolis looks like a fun city. She also said that maybe we can head there for vacation someday so I can pass out and require brain surgery again. Aaah, only a joke your best friend could pull off!!! :)

On the store front, we received some fun new ruffle legwarmers again this week. We previously had them in hot pink, light pink, ivory, and black which sold out almost instantly! They have now added a few new colors: silver sparkle, gold sparkle, gum grey, and antique rose. I had Lucy wear her pair to gymnastics last week and she got so many compliments!

As usual, the pictures just don't do them justice so you'll have to stop in to check them out. We also have the original colors back in stock as well.

Again, thanks so much for all the well wishes! I also wanted to add a special thank you to my mom and dad for ALL their help! With me being a single parent who is unable to drive or pick up my two year old I truly don't know what I would do without their help. You guys are the best parents anyone could have and I only hope I can be as good of a mommy to Lucy.

Have a great weekend and hopefully we'll see you soon!

My favorite things....

When Kris and I order products for Pout we usually order products that we have used ourselves and absolutely love. We do order products that we haven't used, but we make sure that they are products that have absolute rave reviews. I thought I would share a list of my Pout favorites...

The Safe Sippy and Safe Sporter. The Safe Sippy is a great starter cup and is great for older toddlers as well. It is spill proof and stainless steel which means no worries about BPA. The Safe Sporter is a great cup for older kids...it isn't spill proof, but it has a great sport top and a cover if you need to toss it into a bag.

Daily Tea is a daily wear line that is super comfortable and super durable. The line consists of mix and match separates that are perfect for playing at home, daycare, and the playground. Right now all Daily Tea is buy one get one 1/2 off!

The Bundle Me is a MUST HAVE for Fargo. Isabelle was a January baby and this was a life saver. Heavy coats (which are a no-no in carseats anyway) are not necessary with the Bundle-Me.

Isabelle's been out of diapers for a while, but when she was the bumGenius diapers were the best! Super easy to use and super soft on her sensitive skin.

An all-time kid favorite...toy food! The Melissa and Doug wooden toys are the best...completely safe and totally durable.

There are so many other products that are on my list of must haves, but I will save those for another day. Have a great week everyone!

A Few Things...

Thanks for all of your support, prayers, and offers to help. We appreciate it all so much. As I type this, Kris is only a few hours away from home and is anxiously awaiting hugs and kisses from sweet Lucy.

Just to let you know, Pout may have some modified hours here and there until things get back to normal. Today Pout will be closing at 5pm. Hours will be normal unless posted otherwise on the blog.

A HUGE thank you to Kris's mom, Marilyn, who has been at the store for the last week and will be continuing to help us out. We couldn't do it without you - Thanks!

What happens in Vegas...

As many of you know Kris and I left for Vegas early Saturday morning to attend the ABC Children's Expo. Our trip didn't quite go as we had hoped.

Early Saturday evening as we were watching the water show at the Bellagio, Kris passed out and hit her head. We would later find out that the cause for her passing out was dehydration.

911 was called and an ambulance was quickly on the scene. We were transported to the ER where Kris had a catscan that revealed a skull fracture and bleeding on her brain. She had to have a craniotomy early Sunday morning. Needless to say, that evening will go down as the most terrifying experience that either of us has been through.

Thankfully, Kris is doing well now. She is still in the hospital here in Vegas, but is expected to get out within the next day or two. Her recovery will probably take a while, but everything is looking great.

If you have any good thoughts or prayers you would like to send this way we would appreciate it.

Oh boy!

This has been a busy week for us here at Pout! We seem to get something new almost daily which has been so exciting. Unfortunately the two newest lines we received, Wes & Willy and GRL 98, do not supply us with images so you will have to stop in to check these super cute boy and girl fashions out! For the boys, there is a funky motorcycle jacket and fleece pea coat that are absolutely adorable! For your girlies, we got some cute jeans, distressed denim skirts, and fun heart print shirts.

Now we are anxiously awaiting the Fall Kicky Pants line which should arrive sometime this week or next. We will definitely keep you posted as we've been dying to get this line since we ordered it MONTHS ago!

And for the little babies.....

Too cute huh?

Halo Innovations

We are excited to have finally received our newest sleep sacks by Halo Innovations! Designed by a parent who lost an infant to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and now being used in hospital nurseries nationwide, these sleep sacks replace loose bedding in the crib that can cover your baby's face and interfere with breathing. It's the only product that carries seals from leading SIDS organizations in both the U.S. and Canada. They also offer a Swaddle version that has a detatchable piece that keeps your baby tight in a swaddle to prevent that startle reflex that can wake them in those first few months.

They come in basic micro-fleece or this beautiful minky dot fabric. LOVE THEM!

I found it!

After SERVERAL inquiries, I found the pacifier-like teether everyone's been talking about! Check out the Teethifier....

It makes sense doesn't it? It's made especially for little ones to reach those painful back molars that most teethers can't reach. They also mention on website that it can be used as a "transitional" piece when trying to get rid of the traditional pacifier. As odd looking as the Teethifier is, it really does look like a perfect solution!
